Chimes Street

Chimes StreetIn honor of LSU students going back to school yesterday I thought I’d write about something close to the LSU campus. Chimes Street is one of the first places I thought of.  Located right outside the North gates of campus, this one street encompasses the sights, sounds, and especially the tastes of LSU.  Here are just a few highlights Chimes Street has to offer.

1. The Chimes – The original Chimes is located on the corner of Chimes Street and Highland Road. The Chimes offers beers from around the world along with a full bar to accompany their menu featuring seafood and poboys. Check out The Chimes website for a complete menu and bar specials.

2. The Varsity – Located next door to The Chimes, The Varsity presents bands in a more intimate setting at lower ticket prices. The Varsity is also a great venue to watch televised sporting events. Their large projector screen makes the game easy to see no matter if youre sitting at a table or visiting the bar. Click here to see the schedule of bands and list of specials

3. Reginelli’s – Delicious pizza, sandwiches, and salads. Drink specials include $2 pitchers on Mondays and Tuesdays. Reginelli’s is also a great place to watch sporting events with a big screen located in the back of the restaurant.

4. Bacio di Roma – The perfect way to end any night is eating gelato at the newest addition to Chimes Street. Click here to view an insiders view of Bacio di Roma.
