Be sure to check out the detailed artwork. The collection displayed at the exhibit includes design prints, linoleum blocks, textiles and glassware.
Faget’s life in art began when she was a young girl in New Orleans designing clothing with her mother’s help. After graduating from the Academy of the Sacred Heart, she earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in sculpture at Newcomb College. Faget’s collective body of work reflects her dedication to her native culture. In a career spanning more than four decades, she has repeatedly found inspiration in Louisiana’s elements—its flora, fauna, food, architecture, history and culture—transforming them into distinctive, wearable art.
The exhibition will be at The Capitol Park Museum, A Louisiana State Museum through February 25, 2012. View Hours of Operation here.
