BATON ROUGE BLUES FESTIVAL READY TO GROOVE IN REPENTANCE PARK
Renowned Blues Artists Take the Stage in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE, LA – The Annual Baton Rouge Blues Festival returns to entertain blues fans from around the world April 24, 2010 at Repentance Park in Baton Rouge. The 2010 festival boasts an impressive lineup of Blues legends and newcomers. The festival is free and open to the public.
This year’s Blues Festival lineup includes Grammy-nominee Ruthie Foster; Janiva Magness; international Blues legend, Chris King; and Sonny Landreth. “Baton Rouge Blues Festival is a staple music event in our community and an event visitors won’t want to miss. The lineup will have downtown Baton Rouge grooving all day,” Paul Arrigo, President and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, said.
Baton Rouge Blues Week kicks off Sunday, April 18, 2010 with the annual Earth Day Celebration in downtown Baton Rouge. The week continues with educational and music performances by blues artists at local elementary schools. The blues will take over Galvez Plaza for Live After 5 Friday, April 23, 2010 featuring an All-star Blues Jam Session. The week continues with Baton Rouge Blues Festival Saturday, April 24, 2010 and concludes with Sunday in the Park live music April 25, 2010.
Festival goers will enjoy music, dancing, jambalaya, red beans and Bluesman Chicago Al’s world-famous hotdogs.
